2024-11-20Mustafa Naser, a young man of the post-1990s generation, serves as a security officer on the Iraq block-9 central oil and gas processing facility project, managed by China CAMC International Co.

Since joining the project in August 2022, Mustafa has steadily familiarized himself with the project's intricacies, personnel and pre-existing security challenges. His proactive site visits and problem-solving initiatives have significantly reduced the project's safety incident rate.
In addition to these efforts, Mustafa leads security training for Iraqi employees, transforming complex safety protocols into accessible lessons. Using relatable language and vivid real-life examples, he has heightened the understanding and compliance of Iraqi workers with safety regulations, further enhancing workplace security.

Thanks to the collective efforts of the team, the project has recently achieved a milestone of over 16 million safe labor hours, a new record that has earned praise from project stakeholders. Mustafa has grown into a mature and dependable security leader, earning the trust and respect of his colleagues.
An enthusiast of cultural exchange, Mustafa often shares Iraq's rich traditions and customs with his Chinese colleagues and eagerly learns about Chinese cultural gems like the Great Wall, Peking Opera, and calligraphy. "I hope to visit China someday," he says.
Mustafa celebrated two major milestones last month – getting married and buying a house, drawing heartfelt congratulations from his colleagues and friends.
Reflecting on his journey, Mustafa says: "Thanks to the opportunity provided by CAMC and the support of my Chinese colleagues, I am honored to contribute to the Iraq block-9 central oil and gas processing facility project. I've been able to build a beautiful life with my own hands. I will continue to safeguard the project's security with professionalism and passion."
