China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a subsidiary of Sinomach, recently held the opening ceremony of the second phase of the Thar coalfield block II mining-power integrated project, which includes the TharNova 1x330 MW mine-mouth lignite-fired power plant project (TN power plant), in Pakistan. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif attended the ceremony and unveiled the TN power plant project.
The project plays a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and is aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries. The second phase of the project is expected to aid Pakistan in reducing power generation costs, optimizing power supply structure, and ensuring energy security.
The project is expected to have a positive impact on Pakistan's infrastructure development, investment environment, foreign exchange income and expenditures, employment, and living standards.
Final Photovoltaic Module installed in Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Plant Project

The installation of the final photovoltaic module was recently completed in the Al Dhafra PV2 solar power plant project in the United Arab Emirates, with Sinomach subsidiary CMEC acting as the EPC contractor.
The project boasts a direct current installed capacity of 2.1 GWp and a total of 3.84 million modules, with module installation taking 10 months to complete. At its peak, the installation rate was 20 MW per day, setting a new record for the fastest photovoltaic module installation in the world.
Once operational, the Al Dhafra PV2 solar power plant project is expected to generate electricity that will meet the needs of approximately 160,000 UAE households, making a significant contribution to the optimization of the local energy structure and driving the development of energy construction and socio-economics in the region.
Construction begins on China-aided Masaka Hospital Renovation and Expansion Project in Rwanda

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Masaka Hospital Renovation and Expansion Project was held lately in Rwanda. It is designed and managed by Sinomach subsidiary China IPPR International Engineering Co Ltd. Rwandan Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente and Wang Xuekun, the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, attended the ceremony and laid the foundation for the project.
The Masaka Hospital Renovation and Expansion Project, covering a construction area of over 56,000 square meters, includes outpatient buildings, medical technology buildings, inpatient buildings, office buildings, and ancillary buildings. As the largest full-fledged general hospital and the top teaching hospital in Rwanda, its medical services can extend to the surrounding countries of the Great Lakes region.
Once completed, the project will provide higher quality medical and health services in Rwanda and contribute to the sustainable development of Rwanda's public healthcare.
